How long have you worked in Edwards & Co?
I graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2017 with a First Class Honours degree in Law and was awarded the Lord Chief Justice Prize for Administrative Law and Judicial Review.
I joined the Firm as an Apprentice Solicitor in September 2017. However, I first came to the Firm in September 2016 as the recipient of the inaugural Queen’s University and Edwards & Co. Essay Prize.
I graduated from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies with Distinction and qualified as a Solicitor in September 2019.
Do you specialise in any particular area?
I assist primarily in crime, inquests, judicial review and professional conduct cases. I have had experience in Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Coronial proceedings, as well as at PACE interviews.
I also have experience dealing with Ill-Health Retirement and Injury on Duty Award Pensions for both serving and retired police officers.
What do you like about what you do?
When clients seek advice they are often trying to navigate through difficult and stressful times. I find it hugely rewarding to be able to assist in cases in an effort to move through these difficulties for clients. It is gratifying to look back at cases where I have contributed positively and we have achieved the best possible outcome for the client.
What’s the best case you’ve ever worked on?
I’m not sure I would be able to name one specific case. Every case raises different issues and there are never two exactly the same. I enjoy the diversity of each case, the issues that they raise and the things I learn along the way.
